From Lawyer to Community Leader: My Passion for Giving Back

It's crucial for us to give back to our community in any manner we can. As a Klang-based lawyer, I firmly think that assisting others not only fulfils a moral duty but also contributes to a better society. Because of this, I am enthusiastic about doing volunteer work in the community and are constantly seeking for chances to have a positive effect.

Through my firm's collaboration with the Legal Advisory & Women's Aid Centre (LAWA), a nonprofit that offers free legal counsel to individuals in need, one of the ways I give back to the community. I am dedicated to assisting clients who have been referred to us through LAWA by giving free legal advise as panel solicitors.

LAWA is the first "One Stop Centre" established by a political party, Wanita MCA on 16 December 2014 to fight for justice, defend women’s right and female victims of all races, especially those suffering as a result of domestic violence and sexual assault. The organization is ever ready to help safeguard the interests of all citizens irrespective of ethnicity.

Hence, when I was introduced to LAWA by a friend, it opened a gateway for my firm to do something good for the community. I have had the chance to offer legal Advice to numerous people who might not have had the means to do so without the help of LAWA. Among the many legal challenges I have assisted customers with include family law, and employment law. It has been tremendously satisfying to be able to use my legal knowledge to assist individuals in need.

My dedication to supporting the community, however, doesn't end there. Additionally, I support various neighbourhood charities and organisations with my time. I have taken part in community initiatives to support those in need, such as giving free talks on legal matters especially after businesses were hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since I firmly think that even tiny actions can have a significant impact, I am always dedicated to doing my part in making our neighbourhood a better place.

Giving back to the community not only make me feel good on the inside, but I also think it's good for business. My dedication to civic engagement enables me to forge closer ties with both my clients and the larger community. It demonstrates that we are more than just a law company and that we are invested in the local populace.

At the end of the day, my commitment to community service is a core component of who I am. I am convinced that if we band together, we can change the world for the better. And we urge everyone to discover means of supporting their own community whether it's through volunteering, donating to charity, or simply spreading kindness wherever you go.
